The Judgment of God

Verses about Judgement

Matthew 7:21-23 (21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.(22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

1 Corinthians 3:8-9 (8) Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. (9) For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, [ye are] God's building.

Romans 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Romans 14: 10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

1 Cor 3:11-15 (11) For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (12) Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; (13) Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. (14) If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. (15) If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

1 Cor 6:2-4 (2) Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? (3) Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? (4) If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

2 Thess 2:8-12 (8) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: (9) [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, (10) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (11) And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: (12) That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Col 2:12-14 (12) Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. (13) And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; (14) Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Col 4:1 Masters, give unto [your] servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.

2 Thess 1:4-11(4) So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: (5) [Which is] a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: (6) Seeing [it is] a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; (7) And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, (8) In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: (9) Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (10) When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. (11) Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of faith with power:

2 Peter 2:9; The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Rev. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Rev 20:1-3 (1) And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. (2) And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, (3) And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Only God can judge me. That is true. That is why we should be so careful when we say that. All of us are sinners who have fallen short of His glory according to Romans. He is the one that can cast us into hell. He gave us free choice yet gives the final judgement. Am I saying that the Bible contradicts itself? Absolutely not! What I am saying is that when God created us, we became a "little lower than angels" (Pslam 8) yet we have been given dominion over other living things (Genesis 1-3). We are not a part of the evolutionary chain. We did not evolve from monkeys according to the book of Genesis. How else can you explain why monkeys and gorillas are being tested to see if they have the same intellectual and emotional capacity as humans? Humans have capabilities that simians, dogs, cats, or fish do not have. We also have the free will to make choices, whether they are good or bad.

We all sin. Except for Jesus Christ, not one person can say that they have not sinned, that they are perfect. No one. We are not inherently good, perfect creatures. We are inherently evil and sinful and need redemption. That is why Jesus Christ died for us and rose again. With our choices come consequences and judgement is a consequence. In the end no one truly "gets away". God is all-knowing and hopeful. There is much suffering in the world which is loaded wiht people who have no character, no morality, and no conscience, but they in the end will be judged just like the rest of us for their deeds as we will be judged for ours. Even for them, there is redemption. Jesus died even for the ones who have no character, no morality, and no conscience, but they too have to make the choice to accept Him or deny Him.

2 Peter says that a day is as 1000 years and 1000 years is as a days. Do not take God for granted. Life is too short, but God is longsuffering. We are living on His time for he knows our motives and our deeds, good or bad. We live in a time when sin abounds, which means grace much more abound. The love of many grown cold, but God is Love. He is still on the throne. Come to Him. He is Savior, Lord, and Judge
